Quat: A Schrödinger Tale

Stay hidden. Stay unobserved.

Quat: A Schrödinger Tale

Quat is a stealth-puzzle game developed for the Bad Ideas Game Jam 2026, built around a single rule: being observed means death.

You play as Schrödinger’s cat, trapped inside a laboratory and caught in a paradoxical state between life and death. As long as you remain unobserved, you continue to exist—but the moment you are seen, your fate is sealed.

The game focuses on careful movement, spatial awareness, and understanding how visibility works within the environment. Players must navigate a network of rooms, avoid patrolling observers, and interact with systems such as doors, keycards, and environmental triggers to progress. The main gimick is further developed by having the in-game camera act as a observer, meaning you have to cover it before moving blindly around the map.

To aid in your escape, you gain access to a set of abilities inspired by quantum mechanics.

Levels are designed to challenge both planning and execution, combining stealth with puzzle-solving in increasingly complex scenarios.
